"...affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us." 1Th 2:8
Meet our Pastor...
Hello, my name is Glen Mustian. I am humbled and honored to serve as undershepherd and pastor here at Calvary Chapel Eureka. I look forward to meeting you in person but I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my family. My wife Jerilyn and I both claim Colorado Springs, Colorado as our home town, so we're not natives, but we arrived as soon as we could. We both love the majesty of the Redwood Coast of California and praise God for bringing us to such a picturesque spot in His creation. We have been married for over 22 years, and God has blessed us with six wonderful children; Cassie, Amanda (now married to Jeb Kline), Alyssa, Sarah, Josiah, and Jeremiah.
My family and I were blessed with the opportunity to serve the Lord in many Churches and Calvary Chapel fellowships around the country, and overseas, for twenty years while I was serving in the United States Navy. Our last duty station took us to Naval Air Station Lemoore, in Lemoore, CA. where we attended Calvary Hanford with Pastor Gene Pensiero. Pastor Gene has been a friend of the fellowship here in Eureka for many years and he and the body of believers at Calvary Hanford played a major role in equipping, supporting, and sending us out to undertake the work of the Lord here in Eureka.
Fast forward: I can't believe it has already been three years since we arrived in Eureka!
We have been so blessed by the outpouring of love and support from this community and our hearts
have truely been knit together in love with the believers here. I'm very excited about the vision the Lord has given me for the city of Eureka and Humboldt County this year, and I would like to personally invite you to attend our fellowship and become a part of this ministry. We desire to see the church get out from behind the, "Four walls" and reach
out into the community, as Jesus did.
The concept of being, "DOA" or "Dead On Arrival", came to me at the end of 2009, as we moved into our new building on Cedar and California St. My prayer is that this fellowship will be dead to itself upon the arrival of our Lord when he returns, and dead to ourselves individually as we have now arrived in the heart of Eureka, the mission field that God has placed us in. So the theme this year, and I pray every year, is "DOA: Die to self, Outreach to others, All for Jesus!"
"...that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of
the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and
of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col 2:2-3
